New FIF Working Groups on SEC Transition and Fixed Income Regulation; Other Working Group Changes

FIF has created a new SEC Transition Working Group. This Working Group will discuss issues and recommendations for FIF to raise with the incoming SEC Chair during 2025. This Working Group will have its first call during January. If you would like to participate in this Working Group, please update your FIF profile or contact fifinfo@fif.com.

FIF also has created a new Fixed Income Regulations Working Group. If you would like to participate in this Working Group, please update your FIF profile or contact fifinfo@fif.com.

FIF has also made the following Working Group name changes (FIF members do not need to take any action to remain in these Working Groups):

  • The TRACE / Fixed Income Working Group is now the TRACE / RTS Working Group
  • The Securities Lending Transparency Working Group is now the Securities Lending Transparency (SLATE) Working Group
  • The SEC Equity Market Proposals Working Group is now the Equity Market Regulations Working Group.

OFR Repo Reporting Working Group

FIF has scheduled the next call for the OFR Repo Reporting Working Group for Monday January 6, 2025 at 11 am ET. The Working Group will continue its discussion of the implementation of reporting non-centrally cleared bilateral repos.

Short Position Reporting

The Short Sales / Reg SHO / Short Reporting Working Group will have its next call on Tuesday January 7 at 11 am ET. The Working Group will continue its discussion of the implementation of short position reporting.

FIF CAT Monthly Update Working Group

The CAT Monthly Update Working Group call for January will be on Thursday January 9 at 2 pm ET. The Working Group will review guidance and updates from the CAT Plan Participants and FINRA CAT on CAT Transaction Reporting, CAT CAIS and CAT billing during the prior month. The Working Group will also review the current areas of focus for FIF members and the current open issues for CAT Transaction Reporting, CAT CAIS reporting and CAT billing.
